Breakfast upstairs.
The roof is the house’s living room. Breakfast in the morning, tea when you arrive, and in the evening lanterns and a patio heater under the painted ceiling.
The ceiling
The terrace is covered with a painted wooden ceiling in ochre, green and dark brown stars, edged with a white scalloped valance. Below it: bottle-green iron chairs, mosaic-topped tables, reed screens along the green balustrade, and patterned tiles underfoot.
The roof is at the top of the stairs — the steps are high and steep.
On the table
Breakfast is included with your room. On a usual morning: msemen and harcha, eggs, cucumber and olives, cheese, jams and spreads, dates, fruit salad, orange juice, coffee — and mint tea from a silver pot.

Over the white roofs of the medina you can pick out Hassan Tower and, across the river in Salé, the spire of the Mohammed VI Tower.

After dark
Lanterns and a patio heater keep the terrace usable on cooler evenings.
