Dar Al Fanouss opened in 2025 in a medina house on Rue Lalla Hannou. You meet it in order, from the street to the sky: door, corridor, fountain, stair, rooms, roof.

The name
Two lanterns
Fanous is the Arabic word for a lantern. Dar Al Fanouss has one of wrought iron over the front door and others of coloured glass in the rooms, hanging from carved-plaster roses.
Small things
The name is embroidered in gold on the towels and carved into the wooden key fob. Red wool pompoms hang on white walls; consoles have carved fretwork fronts.
